Inmates compete in the 48th Annual Angola Prison Rodeo at the Louisiana State Penitentiary Angola in Angola, Louisiana on Sunday, October 28, 2012. With a record breaking attendance of over 16000+ in the inmates competed in a variety of events including bare back horse riding, bull riding, buddy pick up and a crowd favorite convict poker. In the convict poker four convicts are seated at a table in the middle of the arena playing poker when a bull is released, the winner is determined by the last contestant sitting at the table. Providing extra entertainment was a rodeo clown show, John Payne "The One Arm Bandit" a 12 times Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) "Specialty Act of the Year" winner, and Tim Lepard "The Wild Thang" and his goat herding, dog riding monkeys. Even making a Sunday appearance was Warden Burl Cain.
